149.111 SICK LEAVE ACCUMULATION AND CONVERSION.
   (a)   Effective January 1, 2002, all full-time, permanent, hourly employees and annual salaried employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement may accumulate 120 days of unused sick leave and they shall be allowed to convert twenty-five percent (25%) of such sick leave into a lump sum cash payment up to a maximum of thirty days of pay upon retirement, resignation or death.
   (b)   The lump sum sick leave conversion payment provided for herein shall be made within twenty-one days after retirement, resignation or death.
   (c)   All full-time, permanent employees and annual salaried employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement, who have accumulated more than 120 days of sick leave may convert on a three-to-one basis all days accumulated over 120 days into a lump sum cash payment at the end of each calendar year.

149.112 PERFECT ATTENDANCE BONUS. (REPEALED)

149.12 CITY'S RIGHTS RESERVED.
   Nothing herein contained shall be construed to create any vested right. The City hereby expressly reserves all rights and powers to amend, alter, repeal or revoke any provision of this chapter and any interest, privilege, benefit or right created thereby.

149.13 SALARY DEDUCTIONS FOR HOSPITALIZATION INSURANCE. (REPEALED)
   EDITOR’S NOTE: Former Section 149.13 was repealed by Ordinance 63-11.
149.14 HOSPITALIZATION COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES.
   (a)   For the purposes of this section, “eligible City employees” means employees of Lakewood Municipal Court and the City of Lakewood who meet the eligibility criteria established by the City’s health and welfare plans, but excludes members of Council, part-time hourly employees, temporary employees, seasonal employees, school guards, and members of the Civil Service Commission. Medical benefits shall become effective for each eligible employee on the first day of the calendar month following the month in which the individual is hired.
   (b)   The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay from City funds on behalf of each eligible City employee who is a participant in the City’s primary group hospitalization plan or dental plan as adopted by the City, the full or a portion of the monthly cost of said coverage, including claims costs and all administrative charges, for single or family coverage, as selected by the employee and as established by City policy or an applicable collective bargaining agreement.
