When the Mayor is temporarily absent and inaccessible, or is unable for any cause to perform the duties of the office, the following individuals in the following order shall be Acting Mayor so long as they are qualified to serve as Mayor: the Director of Law, Director of Finance, Director of Public Works, President of Council, and an elector of the City chosen by Council. The individual shall be Acting Mayor until the Mayor resumes the office or until Council declares the office vacant and appoints an interim mayor.
