§ 31.039 ACTING MAYOR.
   In the event of a vacancy in the office of the Mayor, or in the event of the temporary inability of the Mayor to act, the Council shall have the power to appoint from its membership an Acting Mayor, to act in the stead of the Mayor until his or her resumption of duties or until the office has been filled by election, as is provided by § 8 of Article IV of the City Charter.
