It shall be unlawful to maintain or operate any forge, foundry or machine shop when operated as a factory, or rendery, tallow, chandelery, soap factory, glue factory, tannery, packing plant or slaughterhouse within the city or within one mile of the city limits without having first secured a license therefor as is herein required.
