§ 74.208 TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO ERECT STOP SIGNS AND SIGNS REGULATING SPEED.
   (A)   Whenever any ordinance of the city designates and describes a through street, it shall be the duty of the Traffic Engineer to place and maintain an official stop sign on each and every street intersecting such through street, or that portion thereof described and designated as such by any ordinance by the city.
   (B)   Whenever any ordinance of the city designates and describes any intersection as a stop intersection, it shall be the duty of the Traffic Engineer to place and maintain an official stop sign on each approach to the intersection as designated and described in such ordinance of the city.
   (C)   The Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized to place and maintain official signs as directed by the City Manager regulating speed on streets and highways consistent with all provisions of 625 ILCS 5/11-601, as may be amended from time to time.
