(A) General. Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99.
(B) Vehicles damaging highways. Whenever any vehicle is operating in violation of the provision of § 70.03, the owner or driver, or both, of such vehicle shall be deemed guilty of such violation, and either or both the owner and the driver of such vehicle may be prosecuted for such violation. Any person, firm, or corporation who violates the provisions of § 70.03 shall be fined not less than $10, nor more than $200.
(C) Highway weight control.
(1) Enforcement. The County Board hereby authorizes the prosecution of the owner or driver or both of any vehicle operated in violation of § 70.15 in the manner provided by 625 ILCS 5/15-112, as amended.
(2) Penalty. The penalty, upon conviction of any provision of § 70.15, in accordance with 625 ILCS 5/15-316, shall be as follows.
(a) Any person, firm, or corporation convicted of violating any provision of § 70.15 for any weight exceeding the limit posted as provided by § 70.15(H), but not exceeding the axle or gross weight limit allowed a vehicle as provided for in 625 ILCS 5/15-111(a) or (b), as amended, shall be fined $50.
(b) Any person, firm, or corporation convicted of violating any provision of § 70.15 for any weight exceeding the limit posted as provided by § 70.15(H) and exceeding the axle or gross weight limit allowed a vehicle as provided for in 625 ILCS 5/15-111(a) or (b), as amended, shall be fined $50 and $75 per every 500 pounds or fraction thereof for any weight exceeding 625 ILCS 5/15-111(a) or (b).
