The Board of Trustees, consisting of six members, shall be elected to a four-year term as is provided by statute. Newly elected members shall assume office at the conclusion of the first regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees following the certification of the election. This Board shall be the Legislative Body of the village government and shall perform such duties and have such powers as may be delegated by statute.
