ADOPTING ORDINANCES

ORDINANCE NO. 792

   AN ORDINANCE ENACTING AND ADOPTING VILLAGE OF LA GRANGE PARK'S SUPPLEMENT TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF LA GRANGE PARK

WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, has completed the 1st supplement to the Municipal Code of La Grange Park, which supplement contains all ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted since the prior supplement to the Municipal Code; and

WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation has recommended the revision or addition of certain sections of the Municipal Code which are based on or make reference to sections of the Illinois Statutes; and

WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Village to accept these updated sections in accordance with the changes of the law of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of the Village and for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and general welfare of the municipality that this ordinance take effect at an early date;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of La Grange Park:

SECTION 1:   That the 1st supplement to the Municipal Code of La Grange Park as submitted by American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, and as attached hereto, be and the same is hereby adopted by reference as if set out in its entirety.

SECTION 2:   That the 1st supplement shall be amended as follows:

         a.   That Chapter 70.054 establishing the fee for motor vehicle and motorcycle licenses shall be amended to $30.

         b.   That the 1st supplement shall be amended to insert a new “Chapter 75 – Traffic Schedules” attached as Exhibit A.

SECTION 3: Such 1st supplement shall be deemed published as of the day of its adoption and approval by the President and Board of Trustees and the Village Manager is hereby authorized and ordered to insert such supplement into the copy of the Municipal Code kept on file in the Office of the Village Clerk.

SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.

ADOPTED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES of the Village of La Grange Park, Cook County, Illinois this 24th day of May, 2005.
