1312.07 LICENSING REQUIREMENT.
   (a)   No person, corporation, partnership, firm or other business association shall, acting in the capacity of a contractor, engage in heating and/or air conditioning work, electrical work, plumbing work or sewer building, without first obtaining a license for each trade from the Village of LaGrange. For the purpose of this section “contractor and sub-contractor” need not be an employer.
   (b)   Prior to the issuance of a license, the Village of LaGrange shall require an applicant (sub-contractor or general contractor) to furnish the following:
      (1)   Evidence of insurance as defined in Section 1312.04 .
      (2)   Copy of Worker’s Compensation certificate where applicable.
      (3)   Plumbing, Sewer building, electrical and heating contractors shall be required to show proof that they are qualified to perform such work, as required by their respective trade. Plumbers, electricians and heating and/or air conditioning contractors shall provide the Village of LaGrange with copies off their licenses from a recognized testing community or State agency, except that this requirement may be waived by the Village of LaGrange, upon application in a manner prescribed by the Village of LaGrange, for work which meets all the following criteria:
         A.   The work consists of only minor electrical, HVAC and/or plumbing connections;
         B.   The work is incidental to and necessary for the completion of work for which a permit has been issued;
         C.   The work is performed only after notification of the Village of LaGrange of the time and place the work is to be performed;
         D.   The work is performed in the presence of the Village of LaGrange representative or is otherwise made available for full inspection; and
         E.   The work is performed in accordance with all applicable codes.
         F.   Federal I.D. number of social security number.
         G.   Registration with R.I.T.A.
         H.   The fee for licensing shall be the same as set forth in Section 1312.03 . (Ord. 99-1008. Passed 11-18-99.)
