(A) Dogs at large. It is unlawful for any person owning or possessing any dog to permit the same to run at large at any time.
(B) Impoundment. Whenever any police officer or other person designated by the Chief of Police shall find any dog running at large as defined in this chapter, he or she shall contact Animal Control for impoundment.
(C) Length of impoundment. Animals which are impounded in the municipal or county pound shall be kept in the enclosure established as the municipal or county pound until redeemed or otherwise disposed of as may be directed from time to time by the City Council. Animals held in the municipal or county pound shall be held at least three days for redemption.
(D) Conditions of redemption. In case the owner of an impounded dog desires to make redemption thereof, he or she may do so on the following conditions:
(1) Present proof of rabies inoculation and registration, if applicable; or
(2) Pay for the rabies inoculation of the dog and registration, if applicable; and
(3) Pay a fine as provided in § 10.99; and
(4) Pay the additional fees for the boarding of the dog for the period of time it was impounded.
