Prior to the beginning of installation, application must be made to the Building Department for a permit. Such permit must be obtained by a person, firm or corporation registered as an electrical contractor, or by the residential property owner. The Building Department shall require drawings and specifications of the proposed installation if, in its opinion, the installation is of sufficient magnitude to necessitate the same. A permit shall not be necessary for the performance of minor repair work required for the proper maintenance of all existing equipment.
