For the purpose of this chapter the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
Materials, fittings, devices, appliances, fixtures, apparatus and the like used as a part of, or in connection with, an electrical installation. Such items shall be installed in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed in the National Electric Code and in accordance with city ordinances. The term
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
as used herein shall not include conductors, equipment and apparatus installed for or by public utilities, including common carriers, which are under the jurisdiction of the Illinois Commerce Commission, nor shall it include equipment and apparatus installed for the city.
