It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to inspect, or cause to be inspected, the place of business described in such application prior to the issuance of the license therein applied for, and also to make such inspections, or cause them to be made, from time to time; to insure that said place of business is, and shall continue to be, suitable and safe for its use as a motion picture theater, and that all provisions of this code and laws of the state are being adhered to.
