It shall be unlawful for any proprietor or keeper of any billiard or pool room, bowling alley, shooting gallery, skating rink or other similar place or places of public resort in the city, to keep or maintain any table or tables for the purpose of card playing in any such place or to permit persons to assemble in any such place for the purpose of card playing or to permit people who are assembled in any such place to play at cards therein or in any room or other place connected therewith.
