The city, through its Fire Department, shall provide emergency ambulance service within the corporate limits of the city and the Kewanee Community Fire District, within any area specially designated by the City Council, and within any area designated for such service by an intergovernmental service or mutual aid agreement; however, the Fire Chief may respond to requests for aid outside of said service area in cases of major disaster.
