It shall be unlawful for any person injuring an animal by running over, or into, same or coming into contact with same, with an automobile, motorcycle, bicycle or other vehicles, to fail to stop at once and render such assistance as may be possible and to notify immediately the owner of said animal, the animal control officer, the police department or a local humane society of the town.
