The Village Treasurer shall keep all funds belonging to the village on deposit in the official depositories designated by the Village Board, in manner provided by law, which funds shall be so deposited to the credit of the proper bank account in the name of the village. The Village Treasurer shall keep the deposit of the municipal money separate and distinct from his or her own money, and shall not make private or personal use of any municipal money.
