ORDINANCE NO. 2000-O-51

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 2000 S-7 SUPPLEMENT TO THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF KELLEYS ISLAND, OHIO AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation has recently completed updating the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio relative to recently enacted legislation by the Council of the Village of Kelleys Island, together with updates to the criminal and traffic codes that comply with state law as amended by the Ohio Legislature; and

   WHEREAS, Council for the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio has reviewed said update to its codified ordinances and desires to adopt the same; and

   WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal departments, and for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety that the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio be supplemented with updated legislation, therefore, this ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure and shall be effective immediately upon its adoption and due authentication by the Mayor and Clerk respectively;

   NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KELLEYS ISLAND, STATE OF OHIO:

   SECTION 1. That the 2000 S-7 supplement to the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio, a complete copy of which is available for inspection in the Office of the Clerk/Treasurer, is hereby adopted for integration into the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio.

   SECTION 2. The Clerk of the Village of Kelleys Island is hereby instructed to file with the official records of the Village, the within ordinance, together with a Certification of Posting, and append thereto a notice that a complete copy of the supplement to the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio being herein adopted is available for inspection in her office during normal business hours.

   SECTION 3. The 2000 S-7 supplement to the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio being adopted herein shall hereafter be kept on file with the Clerk of the Village of Kelleys Island and shall be made available during normal business hours for inspection by the general public. Copies of the same shall be made available by the Clerk to the general public at a charge equal to the cost of duplication.

   SECTION 4. A copy of the supplement to the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio being herein adopted shall be provided to the Erie County Law Library and Erie County Court for use by the public and the court.

   SECTION 5. The Clerk shall, in accordance with Ohio law, post a copy of the within ordinance, to put all interested persons on notice of the supplementation to the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio being adopted herein, and further advising of the location at which such supplementation may be reviewed and inspected by the general public.

   SECTION 6. That this Council hereby finds and determines that all formal actions relative to the adoption of this Ordinance were taken in an open meeting of this Council; and that all deliberations of this Council and of its committees, if any, which resulted in formal action, were taken in meetings open to the public in full compliance with applicable legal requirements, including § 121.22 of the Revised Code.

   SECTION 7. The supplementation to the Codified Ordinances of the Village of Kelleys Island, Ohio to which this ordinance relates is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and therefore this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, and as such, it shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and due authentication by the Mayor and the Clerk, respectively.
