6.08.090: DOGS AT LARGE:
It shall be unlawful for any person to cause, permit or allow a dog or dogs owned, harbored, controlled or kept by him or her in the city to roam, run or stray away from the premises, except, that while away from said premises, said dog or dogs shall, at all times, be controlled by means of a leash not exceeding six feet (6') in length by the owner or some duly authorized and competent person; provided, however, that such leash is not required for any dog when otherwise safely and securely confined or completely controlled while in or upon any vehicle. This section shall not apply to dogs which are in special areas of parks designated and posted by the park manager, when the rules with respect to the use of such areas are complied with, and said dogs are under custody and control of a trainer. Every female dog in heat shall be confined in a building or secure enclosure. (Ord. 98-14 §1, 1998)
