Every person with three years or more of practical experience who is engaged in the business or work of plumbing or house and building drainage in the City shall apply, in writing, to the Bureau of Health for a license and certificate of competency to do so. If, after proper examination made by the Board of Plumbing Examiners, such person is found to be competent, that fact shall be certified to the Codes Administrator who shall thereupon issue a license and certificate to such person. Such license and certificate shall be valid for one calendar year or the fractional part thereof next following the date of such examination and shall entitle such person to engage in or work at the business of plumbing or house and building drainage. Only one member of a firm or corporation must hold a master plumbers license. Individuals who do not pass the examination are thus not qualified to do plumbing work nor drainage work within the City will be in violation of this chapter.
The dates for examinations for plumbers licenses shall be fixed and published by the Board of Plumbing Examiners. The fees for such examinations shall be as set forth by City Council.
