1420.06 PROTECTION OF SIDEWALKS DURING BUILDING OPERATIONS.
In all cases where a building permit is granted for the erection, construction, repair, alteration, demolition or removal of a building, or for construction of a vault under a sidewalk, the person conducting such work shall bridge over the vault and shall erect, overhead, a sufficient protection to prevent any timber, brick, stone, mortar or other substance from falling upon pedestrians passing along the sidewalk. No sidewalk shall be closed up entirely by any person, whether having a building permit or not, except during the actual removal of a building or while constructing the overhead bridge.
