464.99 PENALTY.
   (a)   Any person driving a vehicle or combination upon a street exceeding the weight limits established in Section 464.01 or 464.02 is guilty of a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be fined seventy-five dollars ($75.00) plus seventy-five dollars ($75.00) for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum weight permitted.

   (b)   Except as provided in subsection (a) hereof, whoever violates any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for each offense, together with costs of prosecution, and, in default of the payment of such fine and costs, such person shall be imprisoned in the County Jail for not more than thirty days.
