(a) COMPOSITION.
Council shall be composed of seven members. These members shall be elected at-large on non-partisan basis.
(b) ELIGIBILITY.
Any elector of the Municipality who has lived in the Municipality, or any area annexed to the Municipality, for one year prior to filing a petition of candidacy, shall be eligible to hold the office of Council member. All Council members shall be residents of the Municipality during their entire term of office.
(c) NOMINATIONS.
Nominations for Council members shall be made by petition only and no primary election shall be held. Nominating petitions shall be in the form determined by the election authorities of the State of Ohio.
(d) TERMS.
The terms of Council members shall be four-year terms beginning on January 1 after their election.
The four members of Council under the general statutory plan of government for the Municipality whose terms expire December 31, 2001 are hereby designated as members of the Council under this Charter to serve through December 31, 2001.
The two members of Council under the general statutory plan of government for the Municipality whose terms expire December 31, 1999 are hereby designated as members of the Council under this Charter to serve through December 31, 1999.
The seventh member of Council shall be the currently serving Mayor, who shall serve as Mayor pursuant to Section 3.04(a) of this Charter, through December 31, 1999.
