A. The merit commission hereby established and implemented shall have all the jurisdiction, powers, rights, privileges and duties imposed by the sheriff's merit system act 1 of 1980 as thereafter amended. (1977 Code ch. 20)
B. The merit system commission shall also have jurisdiction over jail officers as defined in "an act to revise the law in relationship to jails and jailers", approved March 3, 1874, as now or hereafter amended (repealed). (1977 Code ch. 20; amd. 2009 Code)
