7-1-8: ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS:
   A.   Building And Zoning Administrator: The position of building and zoning administrator shall enforce the provisions of this chapter. He/she will be appointed by the county board and shall report to the county board when required. It will be the duty of the building and zoning administrator to enforce the provisions of this chapter, and he/she shall have the right of entry in all buildings under construction. It will be his/her duty to establish proper rules and regulations for the proper administration of this chapter.
   B.   Board Of Appeals:
      1.   Board Established; Appointment And Terms: A board of appeals shall be established by the county board. The board of appeals shall consist of five (5) members appointed by the county board chair to serve respectively for the following terms: one for one year, two (2) for two (2) years, and two (2) for three (3) years; the successors to each member so appointed to serve for a term of three (3) years. The building and zoning administrator appointed by the county board shall be an ex officio nonvoting member of the board of appeals.
      2.   Qualifications: Each of the members of the board of appeals shall be experienced members of the building trades, and all members shall be residents of the county.
      3.   Removal From Board: The county board shall have the power to remove any member of the board of appeals for cause, after a public hearing is held to consider the reasons for dismissal.
      4.   Meetings: The board of appeals shall meet from time to time as needed, at such places within the county as the building and zoning administrator may determine. All meetings of the board of appeals shall be conducted in accordance with the Illinois open meetings act 1 .
      5.   Rules And Procedures: The board of appeals shall adopt and make available to the public its own rules and procedures not in conflict with this chapter or with state or federal law.
      6.   Expenses: The members of the board of appeals shall be paid such per diem expenses as shall be authorized from time to time by the county board. (Ord., 12-14-1999)
