6-1-2: WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS DURING ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS:
   A.   Regulation By County Engineer: The county engineer may prohibit the operation of vehicles upon any county road or impose restrictions as to the weight of vehicles to be operated upon any county road for a total period not to exceed ninety (90) days in any one calendar year whenever any county road, by reason of deterioration, rain, snow, or other climate conditions, will be seriously damaged or destroyed unless the use of vehicles thereon is prohibited or the permissible weights thereof reduced.    B.   Weight Limits Established: Weight limits to be set hereunder shall be as follows:

   C.   Signs Posted: The county engineer shall erect or cause to be erected and maintained signs designating the restrictions on use of the roads at each end of that portion of any road which is restricted, and this section shall not be effective unless and until all such signs are erected and maintained.    D.   Penalty: Whenever any vehicle is operated in violation of subsection A of this section, a fine shall be assessed in accordance with the provisions of 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/15-113, which section is hereby adopted by reference and made a part hereof.
