It shall be unlawful for any person to abandon any animal. Any person who violates this section shall be punished by a fine as provided in section 1-4-1 of this Code, or be imprisoned in the County Jail for not less than thirty (30) days nor more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
