4-1-6: INVESTIGATION OF APPLICANT:
All applications for licenses shall be referred to the county liquor control commission. The commission is empowered to grant licenses subject to the provisions set forth in state law and this chapter. It shall be the duty of the commission to check the applicant's record with the county sheriff and the state's attorney of the county. If any applicant for a liquor license shall not have resided in the county for at least ten (10) years immediately prior to his application, the commission shall have the duty to inquire of the police department, county sheriff and state's attorney in the county wherein the applicant has resided during the ten (10) years immediately prior to the date of his application.
