A. Every vehicle operated upon the streets of the city shall be equipped as required by 47 Oklahoma Statutes. No person shall operate a vehicle upon a street of the city which is not equipped as required by state law.
B. No person shall fail to use such equipment in the manner required by state law, or use it in a manner prohibited by state law. (2016 Code)
It shall be unlawful and an offense within the city limits for any person, firm or corporation to use vehicle or trailer brakes which create an excessive or unusual noise such as is created by the use of engine or "jake" brakes. (Ord. 264, 1-5-2009, eff. 1-5-2009; amd. 2016 Code)
No vehicle shall be equipped with bells except fire apparatus, police cars and emergency cars; and no vehicle shall be equipped with any siren except fire apparatus, police cars or emergency cars belonging to the city or enforcement officers of the state of Oklahoma or military vehicles or any vehicle that may be designated for civil defense. No vehicle belonging to the city will be equipped with sirens except upon written order of the mayor. (1985 Code ch. 20 § 16-6)
