§ 1612.01 FIRE SAFETY FEE.
   (a)   Residential households.
      (1)   A fire fee is hereby established at the rate of six dollars ninety cents ($6.90) per month to be paid by each residential household, including each rental unit, in the city and shall be billed as part of the monthly municipal utility billing, beginning May 1, 2017.
      (2)   The rate charged to residential customers for the fire safety fee shall be increased as follows.

   (b)   Nonresidential households.
      (1)   Every commercial water account in the city shall pay a fire safety fee of fourteen dollars fifteen cents ($14.15) per month, to be billed as part of the monthly municipal utility billing, beginning May 1, 2017.
      (2)   The rate charged to nonresidential customers for the fire safety fee shall be increased one dollar ($1.00) every five years beginning in 2015.
   (c)   Use of fund established. The fund established by this section and the fees collected shall be used exclusively for capital improvements, manpower and necessary operating expenses of the Ironton Fire Department.
