Upon receipt of an application for a license required by this chapter, and upon payment of the license fees provided for in this chapter, the Director of Finance shall issue a license to the hawker, peddler or huckster. Such license shall date from January 1 or July 1 of each year and shall be issued for a term of six months from the date thereof. The license shall state upon its face the articles which the applicant in his or her application has stated he or she desires to sell. No hawker, peddler or huckster shall sell or offer for sale articles other than those enumerated upon the face of his or her license.
