(a) Sick leave with pay for all city employees may be allowed at the discretion of the Mayor and within the limits provided for the Fire and Police Departments by state statute.

(b) All officials and full-time employees of the city who have completed six years of continuous service in the employment of the city shall be paid one day’s salary for each day of accumulated sick leave upon retirement or death, up to a maximum of 90 days.
(c) All costs of the payment of sick leave shall be paid from appropriate funds.
