§ 250.01 HOLIDAYS.
   (a)   The following holidays shall be recognized and observed annually by the city and its regular employees:
      (1)   New Year’s Day;
      (2)   The third Monday in January (Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday);
      (3)   The third Monday in February (President’s Day);
      (4)   Good Friday;
      (5)   Memorial Day;
      (6)   Independence Day;
      (7)   Labor Day;
      (8)   Veterans’ Day;
      (9)   Thanksgiving Day;
      (10)   One-half day on Christmas Eve; and
      (11)   Christmas Day.
   (b)   When any holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be observed the following day. When any holiday falls on a Saturday, it shall be observed on the preceding day. The Christmas Eve holiday shall be observed on the last work day immediately preceding the observance of the Christmas holiday.

   (c)   (1)   Each regular full-time employee of the city shall be granted a day off for his or her birthday.
      (2)   If the specified employee’s birthday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed. If the birthday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed.
