9-10-2: ELECTRIC SCOOTERS AND SKATEBOARDS:
   A.   A person who operates an electric scooter or electric skateboard shall exercise caution to avoid colliding with any pedestrian, shall yield the right of way to any pedestrian, and shall not operate it in such manner as to indicate a willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons.
   B.   All electric skateboards and electric scooters used during the hours from sunset to sunrise shall display or their drivers shall wear a lamp on the front part of the device, and the lamp shall emit a white light visible from a distance of at least three hundred feet (300') from the front of the device and a red visible light from a distance of at least three hundred feet (300') from the back of the device.
   C.   The provisions of Section 9-8-1 of this Code apply to electric scooters and electric skateboards, except as to those provisions which, by their very nature, can have no application. (Ord. 19-4802, 8-20-2019)
