All officers and members of the fire department of the city are hereby required, as part of their regular duties, to do any and all necessary acts for the performance of such contracts, and in the course of so doing and acting, all such officers and members shall be considered to be within the jurisdiction of the city and shall enjoy all of the privileges accorded under the laws of the state relating to pensions, retirement, disability and immunity in exactly the same fashion as if they were performing their duties within the corporate limits of the city.
