For each license year beginning on July 1, 1992, and beginning on each July 1 thereafter, every person owning, keeping or harboring any dog (except seeing eye dogs) within the Village shall register it with and obtain a license therefor from the Village Administrator, who shall keep a record for that purpose, and it shall be the further duty of such person to pay to the Village Collector before September 1 of each license year, or upon acquiring any unlicensed dog thereafter, a tax of five dollars ($5.00) for each dog so owned, kept or harbored by such person. Each such license thereafter shall be valid for the period (license year) of twelve (12) months from July 1 through the following June 30. (Ord. 92-468, 12-8-92)
