A local disaster emergency may be proclaimed only by the Village President as provided by "the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act", as amended. The local disaster emergency shall not be continued or renewed for a period in excess of seven (7) days except by or with the consent of the Village Board of Trustees. Any order or proclamation declaring, continuing or terminating a local disaster shall be given prompt and general publicity and shall be filed promptly with the Village Clerk. It shall be the duty of the Village EMA to cooperate fully with the Village President in the exercise of emergency powers as provided by law during the time of a local disaster emergency.
