6-3-7: MONUMENTS:
Permanent reference monuments shall be placed in such locations as are designated by the plat of subdivision. Such permanent reference monuments shall be stone or reinforced concrete at least thirty six inches (36") in length and six inches (6") square with suitable center point and shall be set flush with the ground and planted in such a manner that they will not be moved by frost.
   A.   Horizonal Control: Metal monuments one-half inch in diameter and twenty four inches in length (1/2" x 24") of galvanized or wrought iron shall be placed in the ground at all lot corners, intersections of streets, intersections of streets and alleys with plat boundary lines. All monuments shall be properly set in the ground before the streets and alleys are accepted for public maintenance. (1983 Code)
   B.   Vertical Control: All permanent reference monuments described herein shall serve as bench marks. The respective centerpoint elevations (USGS Datum), as tied into the Village bench mark circuit, shall be shown on the record drawings of the subdivision improvements and shall be filed with the Village Administrator.
