4-7-10: ENCLOSURES:
Any outdoor swimming pool shall be completely enclosed by a barrier which shall not be more than fifteen feet (15') from the edge of the walk areas as required by this chapter; and the combined measurement between the edge of said walk areas and said required barrier as measured at the farthest points of separation on each of the four (4) sides shall not exceed thirty two feet (32') in total. (For the purposes of this combined or total measurement and the application of this section, any swimming pool shall be considered as having 4 sides, based upon the 4 most significant changes of direction.) Notwithstanding the foregoing requirements of this section, a residence located on the same property as such an outdoor swimming pool may be used as one or more of the sides of the required enclosure. However, the area within the swimming pool barrier, excluding the swimming pool and walk areas, shall not exceed one thousand two hundred forty (1,240) square feet. The barrier shall be designed, to the extent reasonably possible, in such a way so as to discourage easy climbing from the outside. (Ord. 06-822, 3-14-2006)
