3-7-8: ALARM PERMIT FEES:
All alarm permits shall be issued annually without fee and shall be effective for a twelve (12) month period beginning on June 1 of each year; provided, however, that:
   A.   Any permittee who is currently maintaining the alarm permit(s) required by the applicable provisions of this chapter, and any person who has first established a residence within the preceding sixty (60) days whose alarm system has in excess of two (2) false alarms during the twelve (12) month period beginning on the prior June 1 shall pay alarm permit fee surcharges as follows:
      1.   For the third through the tenth false alarms during any such twelve (12) month period, fifty dollars ($50.00) for each false alarm (base alarm permit fee surcharge); and
      2.   For each false alarm during any such twelve (12) month period beginning with the eleventh false alarm, the alarm permit fee surcharge shall increase by one hundred percent (100%) of the base permit fee surcharge for each false alarm thereafter.
   B.   Any person who is required to obtain an alarm permit under any section of this chapter and who has failed to do so at the time of a false alarm whose system has one or more false alarms during any twelve (12) month period beginning on the prior June 1 shall pay alarm permit fee surcharges as follows:
      1.   For the first through the tenth false alarms during any such twelve (12) month period, fifty dollars ($50.00) for each false alarm (base alarm permit fee surcharge); and
      2.   For each false alarm during any such twelve (12) month period beginning with the eleventh false alarm, the alarm permit fee surcharge shall increase by one hundred percent (100%) of the base permit fee surcharge for each false alarm thereafter.
Such permit fee surcharges shall be paid within thirty (30) days after billing. No permits shall be renewed or reissued unless and until all prior permit fee surcharges have been paid. (Ord. 93-477, 3-9-1993)
