All vehicles which may be operated pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter shall comply with the following general requirements:
(A) Each vehicle shall be maintained in good and safe repair and shall be subject to inspection by the Chief of Police or any inspector in the city authorized to make such inspection at such reasonable time as may be necessary.
(B) Each vehicle shall be propelled by power generated or contained within the vehicle itself, or by storage battery, but no power shall be used which will in its generation or use produce smoke or noxious odors sufficient, in the opinion of the City Council or its authorized representatives, to constitute a nuisance.
(C) All parts of each vehicle shall be so constructed that excessive quantities of oil or grease cannot drop on the roadway.
(D) All parts of every vehicle shall be so constructed that no undue noise or vibration shall result from the operation thereof.
(E) (1) Every vehicle shall have attached on the outside and in the rear thereof a metal plate showing in legible print the words, "City of Inkster, License No. (showing number) expires (date of expiration)." Such plate shall be mounted and kept in a conspicuous position on the vehicle to which it is assigned. Plate shall be furnished by the City Clerk upon payment of a fee of $2 for each plate requested.
(2) As soon as a license number and plate have been issued to any licensee under this subchapter, a record thereof shall be given to the Police Department, which record shall show the name of the licensee, the license number, and the owner's identifying number on the bus for which such license plate was issued.
(F) The name of the owner of every motor bus licensed under this subchapter shall be printed in plainly legible letters in at least two places on the outside of every such bus, together with the owner's identifying number thereon.
(G) Every vehicle shall be operated in such manner at all times so as to comply with any applicable traffic regulations of this code, the Police Department and any applicable ordinances of the city.
