§ 35.24 HOLIDAYS.
   (A)   The following days shall be recognized as holidays: January 1, Presidents' Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, December 24 and December 25.
   (B)   If a permanent, full-time hourly employee is scheduled to work on any holiday listed above, the employee will be paid at a rate of one and one-half times the employees regular rate of pay, plus eight hours of holiday pay. Employees are not eligible to receive holiday pay while on an unpaid leave of absence.
   (C)   The hourly, non-exempt employees of the Public Works/Water Works Department compensation will be two times the regular rate of pay for EMERGENCY call-ins on recognized holidays during the 24-hour duration of the holiday, plus eight hours of holiday pay.
   (D)   Employees of the Police Department, who are assigned to 84 hours bi-weekly or rotating shifts, will be paid eight hours of holiday pay at one and one half times their rate of pay for holidays in accordance with the applicable pay ordinance. All other employees will receive the holiday off with pay. However, an employee who works on New Years' Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and/or Christmas Day shall receive super-holiday compensation of one and one half times the employee regular rate of compensation for all hours worked on the holiday in addition to the eight hours of holiday pay at the time of one and one half rate. The holiday shall be considered to run from 7:00 a.m. on the day of the actual holiday to 7:00 a.m. on the day after the actual holiday. Patrol officers assigned to permanent detective duty will be guaranteed a minimum two days call-in holiday pay each year at time and one and one half for eight hours in lieu of the receiving holiday off. The guaranteed call-in period will be for 12 months starting December 1. There shall be no pyramiding of any overtime or premium pay.
   (E)   Permanent, part-time employees who work on New Years' Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and/or Christmas Day shall receive compensation of one and one half times the employee's regular rate for up to eight hours worked such holiday.
