157.03 SEASONAL EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION.
   (a)    Seasonal Employee Defined. Employees hired temporarily by the City to perform services because of climatic conditions, or because of the seasonal needs of the City generally occurring during a period of time of twenty (20) weeks or less.
   (b)    Seasonal Employee Compensation. All seasonal employees working for the City shall be paid at least the most current minimum wage established by Federal or State law, whichever is greater. However, employees that are at least Fourteen (14) years of age through Fifteen (15) years of age shall be paid at least the most current minimum wage established by Federal or State law, whichever is greater, for these ages. The range for Seasonal employees will be established on the most current Ordinance for non-exempt personnel compensation. A returning seasonal employee may be eligible to receive an increase in compensation in said employee's previous year's hourly wage rate depending upon the person's experience, prior work performance, employment record, knowledge, skills and ability to perform the functions of the position, and work attitude, as recommended by the appropriate Department Director and Human Resources Director and approved by the Mayor.
   (c)    Employees in the Aquatics Department may receive extra hourly pay (above the base pay) for having and maintaining certifications as it pertains to an employee's position. The Aquatics Manager is responsible for maintaining, confirming, and approving increases for certifications. (Ord. 2023-76. Passed 7-11-23.)
