143.02 COMPOSITION.

   At a maximum, the members of the Fire Department may consist of a full-time Chief, who shall either be or have been a certified paramedic, an Assistant Fire Chief/Captain/Paramedic, who shall either be or have been a certified paramedic, five Lieutenant-Firefighter/Paramedics, and twenty-three Firefighter/Paramedics, if money is appropriated by Council for such maximum strength. Council may from time to time provide by ordinance for additional members. The appointment of officers shall be made in accordance with the City Charter. The Mayor and Council may provide for such active auxiliary members to assist the Department as may be deemed necessary for adequate fire protection of the community. (Ord. 2021-162. Passed 12-14-21.)
