345.03 CASH BOND REQUIRED.
If the Police Chief determines that such moving or transportation over the streets of the City may result in damage to the street or other public property, he may require a cash deposit in such amount as he may deem necessary, in any sum not in excess of two thousand dollars ($2,000), to insure against any loss, damage or injury to the street or highway or other public property by reason of such moving; in case of any such loss, damage or injury, the same shall be repaired by the City, the cost thereof deducted from such deposit and the balance returned to the applicant. The permit form shall provide the following authorization to be signed by the applicant:
In the event of harm or damage to public facilities, I hereby authorize the City of Independence to draw from said deposit such amount as shall be reasonably necessary to reimburse the City or other public agency for its damage and expense, and further will pay such additional amount as shall be necessary in the event the damage is of greater cost.
