339.14 USE OF STATE OR FEDERAL ROUTES.

(a) It shall be the duty of the drivers of all such vehicles exceeding a gross weight of five tons entering the Municipality upon a street other than a State or Federal route, to proceed immediately, by the shortest way possible, to the nearest State or Federal route leading in the direction in which such vehicle is proceeding.

(b) Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
