Any person who violates any provision or provisions of this title shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and punished by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding six (6) months, or by a fine in any sum less than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or both, except that in all cases where a corporation, limited liability company or other entity other than a natural person is convicted of an offense for the commission of which a natural person would be punishable as for a misdemeanor, such entity is punishable by a fine not exceeding five thousand dollars ($5,000.00). The mayor is authorized to abate, suspend or waive fines incurred for violation of chapters 9.56 and/or 9.60 of this title in circumstances where: a) the violation has been cured to the city's satisfaction; b) all out of pocket costs (excluding staff time and mailing costs) incurred by the city in connection with such violations have been recovered by the city; and c) the mayor determines that immediate payment of such fine by the violator is unnecessary to assure the violator's prompt and continuing future compliance with such ordinances.
