2-2-1: COMMISSION CREATED; MEMBERSHIP; APPOINTMENT AND TERM:
   A.   Commission Created; Membership; Term; Restrictions: There is hereby created, pursuant to a referendum, a civil service commission in the village. Said commission shall consist of three (3) persons who shall be known as the civil service commissioners of the village. A commissioner shall be appointed in each year for a term of three (3) years and until his successor is appointed and qualified. Not more than two (2) members of the commission shall be at any time members of the same political party as stipulated by the election code of the state of Illinois, nor shall any such commissioner hold any other lucrative office of employment under the United States, state of Illinois or any municipal corporation or political subdivision thereof.    B.   Appointment And Duties Comply With Statute: The manner and form of appointment of said commissioners shall be as provided by state law. (Ord. 97-1, 1-13-1997; amd. 2016 Code)
2-2-2: MEETING PLACE:
The village shall furnish suitable space for the meetings and files of the civil service commissioners. (1985 Code § 2-2-2)
2-2-3: COMPENSATION:
Each member of the civil service commission who attends a meeting shall be paid a sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each meeting attended by said member. (Ord. 96-3, 1-8-1996; amd. Ord. 06-23, 12-19-2006)
2-2-4: RULES ADOPTED:
The rules of the civil service commission, as amended, previously adopted by reference by the village, are hereby adopted nunc pro tunc. (Ord. 94-23, 10-10-1994)
