143.03 LICENSES, PERMITS REQUIRED; EXCEPTIONS.
   (a)    No person shall promote, sponsor or conduct any prize fight or public boxing match or exhibition unless such person is licensed under Section 143.06, secures a permit to conduct a match or exhibition under Section 143.08 and otherwise complies with the provisions of this chapter and Ohio R.C. 3773.31 to 3773.58.
   (b)    No person shall participate in boxing as a referee, judge, matchmaker, timekeeper or professional boxer, or as a manager, trainer or second of a professional boxer, except as a second to fewer than three boxers, unless such person is licensed under Section 143.11 and otherwise complies with the provisions of this chapter and Ohio R.C. 3773.31 to 3773.58.
   (c)    The provisions of this chapter do not apply to any boxing match or exhibition conducted as part of an interscholastic or intercollegiate athletic program, or as part of an amateur athletic program sponsored by or under the supervision of the National Amateur Athletic Union or the American Olympic Association in which all contestants are amateur boxers or to any boxing match or exhibition conducted under the supervision or control of the Ohio National Guard, the State militia or reserve officers' association in which all contestants are members of the guard, militia or officers association.
