155.20 AUXILIARY POLICE UNIT; ESTABLISHMENT; PROBATIONARY APPOINTMENT; PERSONNEL.
   (a)   There is hereby created in the Police Department of the Village of Highland Hills, an auxiliary policy unit which shall have no more than twelve (12) part-time patrol officers appointed by the Mayor subject to approval by Council.
   (b)   Each such appointment to the auxiliary police unit shall be for a probationary period of one (1) year continuous service. At any time within the probationary period and no later than thirty (30) days after one (1) year from the effective date of appointment, the Chief of Police shall review the personnel record of each such probationary auxiliary appointee and shall have authority to recommend appointment as a permanent patrol officer, under Section 155.02 which appointment will be subject to an additional probationary period as specified in Section 155.06, or re- appointment as an auxiliary police officer as provided in Section 155.20(a), or terminate the probationary employment of said employee, with or without cause.
   (c)   The Chief of Police shall have authority to prescribe such rules and regulations for the management, regulation and government of the auxiliary police unit, and of all of its members.
